The anus (opening) has a higher pH level than the vagina. It is around pH 7 somewhat neutral/alkaline; it lies at the bottom of the anal canal. The anal canal length ranges from 2.5 to 4 cm long. It is not a good idea using a lubricant made for the vagina (pH 3.5-4.5) for the anus because the vagina is acidic.
